There is a wide array of architectural styles in Desert Park Estates, and this is one of the most affordable communities of Palm Springs, California. The area’s popular mid-century modern design is one of many influences here.
The majority of homes in Desert Park Estates were built in the 1950’s up to the 2000’s; most were completed in the 70’s and 80’s. The home sizes range between 1,250 and 3,600 square feet. The older homes have been remodeled with some reconstructed to their original condition. This popular community was the focus of the Desert Park Estates Neighborhood Organization that has worked for the last few years to improve property values and decrease crime.
The Palm Springs lifestyle is alive and well in Desert Park Estates with gorgeous mountain views and many amenities. Many homes have two-car garages and room for RV parking. The private backyards are perfect for entertaining with fire pits, shimmering pools, and beautiful hardscapes. Assigned schools for this area are provided by the Palm Springs Unified School District and include Vista Del Monte Elementary, Raymond Cree Middle, and Palm Springs High School.
Palm Springs has several private schools including the Desert Adventist Academy, Sacred Heart School, and Desert Christian. The Xavier College Preparatory High School was built in 2006 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino.
There are many things to do within minutes of this community. Palm Springs has over 100 golf courses as well as many upscale shops and world-class restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts come here for swimming, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, and biking. This city hosts events like the Palm Springs Pride Golf Classic and a Broadway in Drag Pageant each year. It has one of the highest populations of same-sex couples in the nation and wedding ceremonies are held at the “Forever Marilyn” statue.
